Speaking Between Songs in Your Cabaret Show

- Even if You are Terrified of "Being Yourself" on Stage!

Are you a singer (any genre) or actor preparing a solo show with songs?

Or perhaps a member of a band rehearsing a concert?

Do you feel awkward and uncomfortable in the bits between the songs?

Are you worried about being boring, or what to say or how to speak?

Do you dread the thought of being yourself on stage?

Then, this is the course for you.

You are not alone – many performers find this difficult, and I had to tackle this fear too!And it’s not just musical theatre actors or cabaret singers who struggle with it- folk singers, jazz singers and instrumentalists often trip up here.

In 5 easy – and short(!) -stages, we will go through together the steps to take to get over the fear, know exactly what to say between songs and perform in public. You will be prepared and confident – even if being yourself on stage fills you with dread.

How will the course be delivered?

This is a mini-course and essentially one of the Units of my forthcoming full course Your Cabaret Crown on creating a cabaret show from scratch and getting it on stage.

Over 5 days, you will be sent a short video – between 2 and 5 minutes – which will take you through the steps to help you know:

- exactly what to say

- how to say it

- how to CONFIDENTLY introduce a song before an audience.

No matter how scared you feel about it now.

You will also be able to read the content of the show and download the material for Lifetime Access.

Facebook Community

As well as the course itself, you will have access to our own dedicated Facebook page, where I will appear each day at 2:00 pm BST in the week the course id delivered to see how you are getting on and answer your questions.

And of course you will be able to converse with other members of the Speaking Between Songs community, who may well have some brilliant ideas for you to try!

Although this course is mini, it is mighty! Packed with valuable content and a chance to work with me personally over 5 lessons would normally cost £200, but as this course is beta, I am offering it to you completely free!.

Just said earlier – this is a beta course and a way for me to seek feedback, not just for Speaking Between Songs, but also for the creation of my full length course Your Cabaret Crown, where I’ll be teaching in detail all the different aspects of creating and performing a solo show.

When will the course be delivered?

What people have said about me so far:

"Working with Fiona-Jane was a truly wonderful experience. Over the course of the 3 rehearsals that we did together, her tremendous insight became clear with the amount of great advice and direction that she gave me and Neil Maxfield (cabaret singer). Her suggestions kept triggering “lightbulb” moments in my head, allowing me to bring the show’s musical standard to the best it could be. Working with Fiona-Jane has been transformational in the way that I, as a musical director, approach cabarets and her valuable guidance will likely stay with me for a long time."

Ricardo Fernandes (Musical Director)

"I really enjoyed working with Fiona-Jane and feel that she has really drawn out the best in me and helped me to become a better cabaret performer in a very small period of time. She gave me the courage to take risks and instilled in me a confidence that I can now take forward to the future.

She is funny, encouraging, positive and wouldn’t hesitate to use her in the future."
